Some music tracks on Motionstyles are registered with YouTube's Content ID system. This guide explains what Content ID is and how to clear claims on your videos.

What is Content ID?

Content ID is YouTube's automated system that scans uploaded videos and matches them against a database of registered audio and video. When a match is found, the rights holder can choose to:

  • Track the video's viewership statistics
  • Monetize the video by running ads
  • Block the video entirely

Important: A Content ID claim is not a copyright strike. Claims don't affect your channel standing—they simply indicate that registered content was detected in your video.

Content ID Status on Motionstyles

Each track on Motionstyles displays its Content ID status:

  • Content ID Free: The track is not registered with Content ID. You won't receive claims on YouTube.
  • Has Content ID: The track is registered with a Content ID administrator. You may receive a claim, but you can request clearance.

Always check the Content ID status before downloading if you plan to use the track on YouTube.

How to Clear a Content ID Claim

If you receive a Content ID claim on a video using Motionstyles music, you can request claim clearance directly from your account.

Step 1: Find the Administrator

In YouTube Studio, go to Content and find the video with the claim. Click on the claim to see which administrator made it. Common administrators include:

  • Audiam
  • DistroKid
  • Epic Elite
  • FUGA / AdRev

  • TuneCore

Step 2: Submit a Claim Request

  1. Log in to your Motionstyles account
  2. Go to Downloads → Music Claims
  3. Enter your YouTube video URL
  4. Select the track from your downloads
  5. Select the Content ID administrator from the dropdown
  6. Click Submit

Step 3: Wait for Clearance

The administrator will verify your license and release the claim. This typically takes 24-96 hours.

You can check the status of your claim requests in your account. Statuses include:

  • Pending: Submitted, awaiting processing
  • Sent: Request sent to administrator
  • Cleared: Claim has been released
  • Rejected: Request could not be processed (contact support)

Requirements

  • You must have downloaded the track while your subscription was active
  • The claim clearance service only applies to Motionstyles music
  • Each video/track combination can only be submitted once

Claim Not Cleared?

If your claim isn't cleared within 5 business days, contact us at [email protected] with your video URL and we'll follow up with the administrator.
